With the vision of “Making Discoveries for Humanity and Society,” the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) was founded in 2011 by the Korean government to promote basic sciences in Korea. Twenty-six IBS Research Centers have been launched and each Center is operated by internationally renowned scientists.

This year, the IBS introduces a new program called “Young Scientist Fellowship (YSF)” to play an active role in fostering next-generation basic science leaders. The YSF offers opportunities for young, promising scientists to do their own basic research work in one of the IBS Research Centers while sharing ideas and utilizing our state-of-art infrastructures. We encourage challenging and high-risk basic research within the special nature of each RC.

Job Purpose

Formulate and implement projects and programs in water resources development and management in line with ADB’s Water Policy and the Water Operational Plan 2010-2020, as well as economic cooperation program and other sub-regional cooperation programs. Akvo seeks an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) specialist to join our team in Amsterdam. Increasingly, Akvo tools are used to collect data across many sectors and organisations. Oxfam will support the Voice2Paris global storytelling contest launched in August by the United National Development Programme (UNDP) by providing three additional fellowships for participating journalists to cover the UN Conference on Climate Change, COP21, in Paris in December.

The Global Monitoring Officer leads the GEMI Coordination Team, serving the convened inter-agency governance structure. She/he is part of the UN-Water Technical Advisory Unit and works under the direct supervision of the UN-Water Chief Technical Adviser. It is anticipated that a dedicated administrative staff will be hired to support the GEMI Coordination Team. The duty station is in Geneva, Switzerland.
