To instigate this vision, five missions have been stated:
Implementation of IWRM in Indonesia
Indonesia undertakes steps forward to implement the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) policy and concepts, which is to become an international concern to enhance water resources management for achieving public prosperity and sustainable environment worldwide. In line with a developed IWRM concept in the international forum, some actions have been taken at the national and regional level. Indonesia is still striving to emerge from a severe economic crisis and at the same time the country is in process of transition to a democratic society and of decentralization. The Water Resources Policy Reform is one of the important actions to cope with poverty alleviation, food self-sufficiency, and natural resources conservation.To instigate this vision, five missions have been stated:
(i) Water resources conservation,
(ii) Efficient use of water resources,
(iii) Control of water damaging power,
(iv) Empowerment and improved role of community, business, and
government, and Improvement of data and information's availability and
transparency
