Tangerang to Make Tanjung Pasir Mangrove Forest Recreational Area
September 06, 2015

Government of Tangerang Regency, Banten, turns mangrove forest in Tanjung Pasir Village, Mauk Subdistrict, into a marine and culinary tourism destination.
“We have discussed it with PT Perhutani as the owner of the land and they have agreed to be managed,” said Tangerang Regency Secretary, Iskandar Mirsyad in Tangerang on Wednesday September 2.
According to Iskandar, the 20-hectare mangrove forest is functioned to withstand erosion caused by Java Sea waves to the beach. But it can also be used as recreational area by providing fishing areal and other supporting facilities. Iskandar believes that people’s enthusiasm toward the natural recreational destination in Tangerang is high because people get bored with shopping centers.
Tangerang government, said Iskandar has formed a team that consists of related authorities for the project that will be realized starting from January 2016.
