Call for applicants: Strengthening capacity of local authorities and water utilities to enhance integrity and accountability in water service provision

WaterNet, in collaboration with the SADC Secretariat, the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa Southern Africa Regional Office, CapNet and the Global Water Partnership-Southern Africa are organising a five day training workshop on ‘Strengthening capacity of local authorities and water utilities to enhance integrity and accountability in water service provision’.
This course is one of a series of courses to be rolled out until 2014 targeted at water sector stakeholders at regional and national levels.
The aforementioned training is targeted at:
- Local Authorities managers and senior technical staff
- Water utilities senior managers
- Staff of Ministries responsible for local authorities and water services provision
- Water service regulators
- Senior technical staff of local government associations
Applications are invited and should be submitted to the WaterNet Secretariat on or before 18 July 2013. Applications should be sent to rchioreso@waternetonline.org and copied to waternet@waternetonline.org
Full support (travel, perdiem, accommodation, conference package) will be awarded to 20 participants and 15 places will be reserved for partially funded or self-funded applicants. All applicants should indicate the level of support required on the application form. Self funding applicants and those requiring partial funding are especially encouraged to apply.
The workshop will be held at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa from 29 July to 2 August 2013.
