April 15, 2015
“We express our appreciation to the Banten police who has promoted the movement of tree-planting for environment conservation,” said Hilman in the “Green Action Polisi Sahabat Alam’ at Lebak Regency, Banten.
Hilman further explained that 36,000 hectares out of the overall critical lands are in Banten Province that covered four percent of the region’s size.
“We hope that in the future, the movement can be performed across Indonesia.”
According to the Head of Banten Police Brig.Gen. Pol. Boy Rafly Amar, the movement involved police and residents around the upstream area to plant 5,000 trees. The trees are planted along river watersheds in Rangkasbitung and police offices in Lebak.
“We promote this movement to save the land and forest to prevent potential of various disasters, because forest is a part of our future,” Boy said.
